Mission Impossible: A Father's Day Adventure

We surprised Mr. Wagner and his good friend Jon with a "Mission Impossible" adventure for Father's Day. We had to skip church to get an early start, loaded up both families in the car and instructed the guys to start driving north. As we neared the city we gave them an envelope with instructions for their first mission:

Of course the guys had a great time driving fast and yes indeed, their testosterone kick was fulfilled! I love how Mr. Wagner gets as excited as a young boy when it comes to mechanical, racing activities. He likes to go fast! The Little Miss enjoyed watching her daddy and said she wants to learn to drive the karts (making her dad proud!). Mr. Wagner and Jon then received another envelope with the next mission:

What a fun-filled Father's Day! I appreciated every minute of the day watching my husband take joy in being a man and a dad. It was an added bonus to share the day with dear friends, thanks Booth family for joining in the adventure!

We had a wonderful time on Saturday too with some other dear friends, the Curtis family (side note: also related to the Booth family). We met up with Mark, Joani and Allison for one of my all-time favorite summer traditions, biking out to a yummy local, organic farm restaurant for brunch. The 2o mile round trip bike ride was well worth the effort! You can read more about it and see related pictures on Joani's blog.

Every Good Gift Is From Above

Mr. Wagner and Yours Truly celebrated our 6th anniversary a week early with a family vacation to Cannon Beach, OR. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. The sun was shining, our lodge was right on the ocean, the view was gorgeous, and we had the most precious gift that God has given through our marriage along with us. It was wonderful. I still remember the day Mr. Wagner and I said "I do" and cherish the promises we made to one another. I couldn't ask for a better man. He is kind, strong and yet gentle, generous, patient, faithful, loving, and oh so handsome. Not to mention mechanical and direction-savvy (balancing my lack of skill in both areas)! This wife and mommy is sure blessed by all that God has given.

Ballerina Girl

I have come to decide that there is nothing cuter to watch than a little girls' ballet class. The Little Miss has been taking ballet since this past September and really seems to love dancing. Last week she had her first performance and as we'd expected, took a while to warm up to the audience but after she did, enjoyed every minute of being a performer. My favorite part was before the performance, watching her look at herself in the mirror as we got her dressed in her fancy tutu. All the hours of taking her to class and waiting while she danced were made more than worth it when she proudly exclaimed in amazement at her reflection, "I'm a REAL ballerina!" Love, love, love this girl.

Lovin' It

The transition to Summer is officially beginning in the Wagner household and we are lovin' it! Our yard is planted and our shade garden (pictured above) is in full bloom. The strawberry plants are flowering and we are looking forward to picking the juicy fruit. We even made our first trip to the local Farmer's Market last weekend, a favorite summertime activity. We are looking forward of more days of sun, hours spent at the neighborhood pool, bike rides, hikes, lunch at our favorite local farm restaurant, camping trips and BBQing with good friends. Bring on Summer!

Happy Mother's Day!

Being a mom is hands down the Best. Thing. Ever. While there are many career opportunities available to women these days (thankfully so!), there is nothing I would rather be than a mom to our Little Miss. The minute my eyes met hers I knew my heart would never be the same. I pray that one day, in God's time, our girl will get the chance to truly enjoy motherhood herself. There is no career or accomplishment in life that gives greater fulfillment.

March for Babies

We successfully completed the March of Dimes "March for Babies" this weekend and had a great time with our team dedicated in the Little Miss' honor. We were within just dollars of raising our goal of $1,000 so again, thank you to all who supported us!

Mr. Wagner was a good sport and even wore a bright purple t-shirt, chosen for our girl's favorite color. We think he should win Daddy of the Year for that! Our family is planning to form a team again next year so please consider joining us on the walk next Spring and you too can see the infamous purple shirt in person (Oh, are you reading this Mr. Wagner? We sure do love you and think purple just may be your new color).

Post-Blog Update: Great news...now that the totals are coming in, we learned we actually surpassed our fundraising goal and raised $1,009 as a team for the March of Dimes. Thank you to all who donated!

The Royal Wedding

Our own princess and Yours Truly had fun watching the Royal Wedding of Prince William and "Princess" Catherine, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I admit that I jumped out of bed first thing excited to view our DVR recording of the event (giving Mr. Wagner a good chuckle). It was even more fun to watch with my daughter who ooohed and ahhhed at the exquisite wedding dress, the handsome Prince, Queen Elizabeth, and all of the horses and carriages. What little girl doesn't dream of marrying a prince someday? I for one am thankful that God brought me my own Prince Charming and pray for our girl's future husband, that he would be a godly man, her own prince who will cherish her and above all, have a heart for Jesus. No need for Buckingham Palace or the crown jewels when you can have the Crown of Life.
